For years I've taught myself guitar by ear always wanting to know what notes I was playing and how best to learn them. I've purchased probably every book on the market hoping to have that dream realized. Unfortunately most were either too mundane, too complex or too boring to hold my attention for very long. Recently I stumbled upon Christian's series of books and after reviewing the contents I knew I had found what I had been searching for all these years. These books eliminate all the unnecessary fillers and cut right to the chase. Everything is presented in an easy to follow format that allows you to go at your own pace precisely and with clarity. I know this series will get me to my goal of mastering the fingerboard. I'm so convinced of that fact that I purchased the complete series of 5 books at one time covering the entire fingerboard. They are unique, in my experience, in that they go about learning the fretboard and theory by breaking the fretboard into segments, This makes it much more systematic and logical. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from D. Daws -- Missing Method sight reading - Vol 3 : This is part of a series of books to assist guitarists with sight reading notation (as opposed to Tab). I have found it useful and have (I think) all of the books in the series. For those positions that I am reasonably comfortable with (open and fifth) they are useful positive reinforcement of what I know. For the others (ninth and cross over) they build on what I have. For those that have done grade exams this series might be too lightweight but I have found them useful.
